Safety
You may wonder about the safety of your records in case of fire. BrainCore places individually heat activated sprinkler heads in a dense pattern in the racks. Our smoke beams catch any potential problem before it is even visible. The repository contains serial fire walls which each seal off automatically under fire conditions, limiting the spread of any mishap. Our rack plans are on file with our local fire departments, and our central monitoring system is directly connected to dispatch desks. You are welcome to review the continual inspection records for all our fire safety systems.

Security
The facilities are protected by a Ready-key access system, which allows only the required staff to enter various parts of the building. Closed-circuit cameras provide both live (on-site and remotely accessible) and taped records. Of course we use motion control detectors and a central monitoring station.

When the need is absolute security and optimal environmental conditions for your magnetic media, BrainCore’s vaults are your answer. Unparalleled computer rotation programs, rugged structural integrity, and waterless fire suppression are just some of the special features of the vaults.

The Vault
An extra layer of security

BrainCore maintains multiple security vaults with special features to protect your most critical information. Each is accessible only by the vault manager, and is tracked with an individual security camera. In case of disaster, backup systems are applied first to the vaults.

Optimal environment
The vaults are kept at a steady 68 degrees Fahrenheit and 30 percent humidity, adhering to the ANSI and NIST requirements for optimal longevity of magnetic media, CDs and optical disks; and microfilm and fiche. Fire protection is provided by FM-200, the successor to the obsolete Halon systems. No water is deployed. The construction of the vaults are either FireLock, in which the same material used in blast furnaces is contained, or masonry with rebar and sand fillers, separate footings, and 6-inch poured concrete caps over steel framing.

Computer media
The BrainCore vaults are most utilized by clients with critical data center operations. We utilize a special software system for rotation of tapes. With DirectConnect, we can even talk to your TMS without any extra effort on your part. We are always ready to participate in your disaster recovery tests, and guarantee accuracy and timeliness.

If you have a PC or LAN-based system, BrainCore will also rotate your backup tapes, whether you desire daily, weekly or monthly service. No system is too small to use off-site services to protect its data.
